xProDDNS 2015 Release 1.1

xProDDNS now supports encrypted remote connections from any modern web browser. Use of a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop to remotely monitor and manage Dynamic DNS hosts is usually in response to the receipt of a realtime email or text message notification that a significant event just occurred. The most common events are the change of a public IP address and the subsequent update to Dyn, No-IP, OpenDNS or DNS-O-Matic. Dynamic DNS hosts can now be securely monitored and managed with intuitive and attractive web user interfaces tailored to the varying bandwidths and screen dimensions of mobile and stationary Internet connected devices.

Safety and resource utilization were both focal points in refactoring the data and telecommunications aspects of xProDDNS in order to support encrypted remote connections. The results are comprehensive and measurable advances in security and performance.

This latest release of xProDDNS also includes many enhancements to the mobile and full web user interfaces to make them even easier to use. Design refinements and additional graphics were applied to improve the aesthetics of nearly every dialog.

“The Professional Dynamic DNS Client” for Dyn, No-IP, OpenDNS and DNS-O-Matic is available on our Downloads page with installers for Windows, OS X and Linux.

xProDDNS 2014 Release 3

xProDDNS 2014 Release 3 introduces two exciting new features for server administrators and remote users with dynamic public IP addresses and/or hosts at No-IP, Dyn, OpenDNS and DNS-O-Matic.

  • Mobile Web User Interface for Smartphones
  • Email and Text Message Alerts when New Version of xProDDNS is Available

Smartphones are now automatically shown a mobile web user interface tailored to their small screen sizes and potentially limited data bandwidth. Tablets, laptops and desktops are shown a full web user interface. Hashtags can now be used to control which web user interface is shown, regardless of the device being used to access xProDDNS.

Server administrators and remote users can now be notified via email and text messages when a new version of xProDDNS is available to download.

Many refinements and two bug fixes are included in this new release.

Automation Suite 2014 Release 3.1 for VMware

Automation Suite for VMware has been updated to address a major flaw in SSLv3 (secure sockets layer version 3), a cryptographic protocol used for secure Internet connections.

  • Exclusive Use of TLS to address the SSLv3 POODLE Vulnerability

TLS (transport layer security) is now used exclusively for all secure Internet connections. This strict change of cryptographic protocols is in response to the recently discovered POODLE vulnerability in SSLv3.

xProDDNS 2014 Release 2

We are excited to announce the rapid release of xProDDNS 2014 Release 2. It introduces a great new feature and addresses a major flaw in SSLv3 (secure sockets layer version 3), a cryptographic protocol used for secure Internet connections.

  • Public IP Address Monitor with Realtime Email and Text Message Alerts
  • Exclusive Use of TLS to address the SSLv3 POODLE Vulnerability

Email and text message alerts are now sent whenever a public IP address changes. The realtime notifications are completely independent of any Dynamic DNS service provider accounts. This new feature makes xProDDNS a free IP monitor and a Dynamic DNS client.

TLS (transport layer security) is now used exclusively for all secure Internet connections. This strict change of cryptographic protocols is in response to the recently discovered POODLE vulnerability in SSLv3.

POODLE Vulnerability in SSLv3

If you have not already read about the POODLE vulnerability in SSLv3 (secure sockets layer version 3), visit the Google Online Security Blog for the details.

xProDDNS, vmCLIpboard, vmProcessStrobe and vmProcessStrobeWeb are negatively impacted by this cryptographic protocol flaw so we are working hard to release new versions that do not rely on SSL. We will use TLS (transport layer security) exclusively for all secure Internet connections.

Automation Suite 2014 Release 3 for VMware

We have updated our Automation Suite for VMware with support for VMware Fusion 7, the upcoming VMware Workstation 11 and the soon to be released Apple OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Security has been improved with better obfuscation, encryption and salted hashing of sensitive data. Some of the algorithms in vmCLIpboard, vmProcessStrobe and vmProcessStrobeWeb have been refactored to increase performance and decrease resource utilization. Finally, vmProcessStrobeWeb has been repackaged for incredibly easy installation and local launching on Windows, OS X and Linux.
