How-To: Easily Add Many VMware Hosts

AddRemoteHosts
For those of you managing many VMware hosts, there is an easy way to add large groups of them to vmCLIpboard, vmProcessStrobe and vmProcessStrobeWeb. In the Add Remote Hosts dialog that is common to all of our products for VMware, the “Name or IP” field can handle a range of IP addresses. Instead of entering just one IP address, enter the first three octets as usual but make the fourth a range using a hyphen to separate the beginning and end of the range. In the example 192.168.1.100-199 we have defined a range of one hundred IP address. The first IP address is 192.168.1.100 and the last is 192.168.1.199. If your typical VMware server hosts ten virtual machines then we just added 1,000 virtual machines with a single entry.
